Problems and Solutions

Nowadays, with the expansion of University enrollment, the number of college students is soaring, and the school canteen space is limited, so it will be particularly crowded when it comes to meals. Many students want to avoid the trouble of waiting in line and finding seats during rush hour. They simply call for takeaway or go to Heichao to buy pancakes and hot and spicy food. Others simply eat good instant noodles directly. However, no one can fully guarantee the safety of their food, whether it's takeout or pancakes that are hot and spicy. Our solution is to develop a micro-mail program that can order meals online for teachers and students to choose dishes. First of all, it has the function of ordering meals online. By browsing the pictures, ingredients, customer reviews and other information of each window, users can choose their favorite food and go to the designated place after class to take meals without waiting for a long time. Secondly, users can distribute food sharing posts in the gourmet community, share the delicious food they eat with the vast number of northern speakers, or "dark cuisine" that they eat in Tucao. The high quality posts will also be labeled as boutique stickers in the conspicuous place of the community, so that all users can comment and praise. At the same time, users can also interact with chefs in the community message, through communication can improve some imperfections, which will greatly close the distance between chefs and diners, we can "zero distance" to communicate with each other. This is more abundant and interactive than the usual ordering app, which is more suitable for students at school.

requirement analysis

1. Users for this design?

Our canteen ordering procedures are in principle directed to all students and faculty members of the Northern Language Department. Mainly for those who want to pack in the canteen and order meals in advance. There are a large number of Beiyu speakers but only one canteen. During the peak period of meals, students often spend a lot of time on choosing meals and waiting in line for meals. From the interviewees we interviewed, almost everyone is willing to use our small program. Girl B tells us that even if we use tents to lead our meals, it's much better than crowding around in the canteen.

2. What are they doing now?

Because the canteen is crowded, many students want to avoid the trouble of waiting in line and finding seats during the rush hour. They simply call for takeout or go to the family area to buy small bags. Our interviewee, boy A, often order takeout because of the crowded canteen, and some students simply eat good instant noodles. However, whether it is takeout or hot pancakes, these things will not have food safety protection, and school canteens supervised by relevant departments can ensure the balance of nutrition and food hygiene.

3. What do users need?

Users want us to solve two necessary problems: waiting in line and not ordering in advance. The traditional canteen is always crowded with people who linger to decide what they want to eat, which greatly increases the degree of crowding in the canteen. Our users hope that our platform can provide the same ordering service as takeout, and then pick it up at the designated location. In this way, queuing congestion in the canteen can be alleviated. Boy A mentioned that if there was a snack in the dormitory area, he preferred the food in the canteen to take-out because the canteen had better hygiene protection after all.

4. How to solve the demand?

Most users are at a loss about the status quo of the canteen. They have choices and most people miss meals, but later, the canteen dishes are running out. Even the girl said that she and her classmates had consulted with the students of Mingda University and went to their canteens across the schools every day.

5. Where does the need arise?

Appears in the user life each day, the people take the food as the day, eats not well, is not happy, will affect the mood of the day. Originally, class has been very tired, but also to eat crowded half an hour, waste a lot of unnecessary time, not to mention, will affect the lunch break, and then affect the afternoon learning situation.

6. The relationship between users and data?

The data we set are divided into two categories. The first category is the dishes and types of dishes, such as Northeast, Chengdu, noodles, fried rice and so on. The second category is the taste or keywords selected by users. When choosing a meal, users can choose it through the combination of cuisine, type and even related keywords (such as no green pepper, etc.). When the order is successful, the user's order information will be recorded in order to make similar recommendation.

7. What other tools do users have?

All interviewees had smartphones, and if they didn't eat in the canteen, they would order takeaway with ordering software such as Mei Tuan or hungry, or they would take the canteen food back to their dormitories by packing it away.

8. How do users communicate with each other?

Usually, the user browses the ratings (evaluations) below the dishes to communicate about food, or finds and solves problems in other people's messages to the chef.

9. Frequency of user needs?

In view of the enormous dining pressure in Beiyu canteen, the frequency of online ordering is generally higher, especially during the working day (school), which is usually 5-6 times a week. Girl A chooses to pack and take away when she is in an emergency. Girl B will order meals online in advance to taste the delicious food when she sees the launch of the new product.

10. What is the time limit for demand?

First, ordering and choosing meals takes time. Because users want to pick up the steaming box lunch when they arrive at the canteen after class, they are likely to choose to order in class time, which may take a lot of time, and may be delayed by browsing pictures of various window dishes. Most of the time, users do not have that much time to order. 。 Users should choose the right time to order meals (such as the second class break) so as to reduce the phenomenon of affecting the attendance.

Secondly, it takes time for the chef to prepare the dishes and pack them in a designated place. Boy B thought that if he ordered the meal soon after class and went to the canteen to find that the master had not prepared his own box lunch, he would feel that he would rather go directly instead of waiting here, which would affect the user experience.

11. What happens when things go wrong?

It's a big deal to pick up the wrong lunch box in a hurry. Girl B said that if she met the situation of getting someone else's box lunch, she would laugh and think that people will inevitably make mistakes and learn to be considerate of others. Girl A feels it's too late to tolerate the wrong box of meals. It's no big deal to give a bad comment or complaint. But if it happens to be a dish she hates, Girl A says she'd rather wait in line for more delicious dishes than use the ordering platform.

task

1. Setting up basic ordering functions (ordering, recommendation, ordering, comment, etc.) to meet users'daily ordering needs

Girls A and boys B all hope that after tasting the perfect food, they can score the delicacy, hygiene and service attitude of the service staff. They often use takeaway software. They have some difficulty in choosing what to eat. They want to refer to your comments when ordering. Boy B often eats takeout, but if he can order delicious food in the canteen, he would like to order in the canteen, because he feels that the health protection of takeout is not strict in school after all, and the price of the canteen is relatively affordable. If there is an online ordering platform for the canteen, he will be happy to use it. Therefore, we need to meet the majority of people's online ordering habits and provide the corresponding basic functions.

2. Optimizing search function, keyword search, dish ingredient list

Girl A hoped that the platform could classify food, because she did not like spicy food, so she preferred to continue choosing dishes directly in the "not spicy" category. Girl B doesn't like to eat onions, but she often orders dishes with onions. For this reason, she hopes to see the ingredient list of the dishes, so as to facilitate the majority of people who have taboos, and filter out foods they don't like or even can't eat.

3. Recommendation of dishes according to the usual food choices

Girl B also hopes that she can see her own recommendation when ordering, and that our platform can recommend her favorite dishes according to the dishes she ordered. Boy B also expressed the hope that the recommendation function can be more powerful, because there are too many dishes in the canteen, and he is worried that he accidentally ordered "dark cuisine".
